THE ENVELOPE
Documents
Commercial invoice, packing list, bill of lading, certificate of origin, SVLK documents, the FLEGT licence for EU destinations, phytosanitary certificate, fumigation certificate and the container loading photographs.
TIMING
Assembled before the seal, not chased after it
The set is put together before the container is sealed. Scans go to you the day it leaves the yard, and the originals follow by courier with the tracking number sent the same day.
A document chased after departure is a document that arrives after the vessel. That is demurrage, and it is entirely avoidable.
THE COMPLIANCE PART
The four that get checked
- ISVLK
Indonesian timber legality verification, independently audited, tracing the chain from concession to export.
- IIEUDR
Supplier declarations, plot geolocation, harvest records and a risk assessment, assembled per shipment.
- IIIPHYTOSANITARY
Issued per shipment by the Indonesian quarantine authority against the treatment record for that shipment.
- IVFUMIGATION
Carried out by a licensed provider before the container is sealed, with the certificate in the document set.

FOB SEMARANG
Shipping terms
We quote FOB Semarang as standard, and can work CIF, CNF or EXW where your forwarder prefers it. Every indicative price published in the catalogue is FOB.
ON CIF AND CNF
We do not book the cheapest rate of the week
Where we arrange freight, we book through partners we use regularly rather than whoever is cheapest that week. A rolled booking costs a hotel opening far more than the freight saving, and the saving is never ours to keep anyway.
If your own forwarder is better placed at your end, take FOB. We will have the container at Tanjung Emas on the date agreed and hand it over cleanly.

FOB Semarang: the goods, packing, treatment, documents and delivery to the port, loaded. Not sea freight, insurance or duty.
For established programmes, yes. For a first order we would rather quote FOB or CIF so the freight risk is visible to both of us.
Yes, at sight, through a major bank. Terms are agreed in writing before production is booked.
THE PORT OF LOADING

TWO HOURS AWAY
Loading port
Every container loads at Semarang (Tanjung Emas), about two hours by road from the factory. Full containers and LCL consolidations both go through it.
WHY THE DISTANCE MATTERS
Fewer handling points is less damage
Short inland haulage matters more than it sounds. Every additional handling point between the loading bay and the vessel is another chance for a corner to be crushed, and the container we load on our own yard travels sealed from there.
We load and seal on site rather than trucking loose cartons to a consolidation warehouse. It is the reason the loading report is worth anything.

Loading report
Every container is photographed as it is loaded — the empty box, the stages of the load, the final wall and the seal with its number legible.
THE USE OF IT
If something arrives damaged, we can both see how it left
The report ships with the documents. When a claim comes, the conversation starts from a photograph of the load rather than from two opposed assertions, and it usually finishes the same day.
It has gone against us more than once. That is what makes it credible the rest of the time.
