For an EU buyer this is not a feature, it is the condition of entry — and the distinctions matter, because a FLEGT licence and an EUDR due-diligence pack are not the same thing and only one of them discharges your obligation.
Each certificate below says what it proves, who issues it, and when it is assembled.

LEGALITY
SVLK
SVLK is Indonesia’s mandatory timber legality assurance system, independently audited and covering the chain from forest concession to export. Arjuna Jati has held it since 2012.
IN PRACTICE
The documents travel with the order
Every log arrives with its chain-of-custody paperwork, and those documents travel with the order through to the export declaration. Nothing is reconstructed at shipping time from a spreadsheet.
For a buyer this matters at exactly one moment — when a customs authority asks — and at that moment nothing except the original document set is any use.
THE FULL SET
What ships with every container
- ISVLK
Indonesian timber legality verification, independently audited, tracing the chain from concession to export.
- IIEUDR
Supplier declarations, plot geolocation, harvest records and a risk assessment, assembled per shipment.
- IIIPHYTOSANITARY
Issued per shipment by the Indonesian quarantine authority against the treatment record for that shipment.
- IVFUMIGATION
Carried out by a licensed provider before the container is sealed, with the certificate in the document set.

DUE DILIGENCE
EUDR
For EU buyers we supply supplier declarations, geolocation data for the harvest plots, harvest records and a risk assessment — assembled per shipment rather than produced on request afterwards.
THE DISTINCTION
SVLK is the backbone; EUDR asks for more
SVLK establishes legality through an audited chain of custody. EUDR asks for plot-level evidence on top of that — where the trees stood, when they were cut, and what the deforestation risk at that location is. That extra layer is the part we prepare before you ask for it.
For an EU importer the obligation is yours, not ours. Our job is to hand you a file that discharges it without a month of correspondence.

No. FLEGT addresses legality and does not by itself discharge an EUDR obligation, which is why the due-diligence pack ships alongside it.

THE EU LICENCE
FLEGT
Indonesia holds a FLEGT Voluntary Partnership Agreement with the EU, under which SVLK-verified shipments carry a FLEGT licence. The licence accompanies the export documents for EU-bound containers.

A licence is not a discharge
FLEGT addresses legality. It does not by itself discharge an EUDR obligation, and any supplier telling you otherwise is either mistaken or hoping you are. We ship the due-diligence pack alongside the licence for exactly that reason.

TREATMENT BEFORE THE CONTAINER IS SEALED

TREATED BEFORE SEALING
Phytosanitary
Fumigation and heat treatment are carried out by a licensed treatment provider before the container is sealed, and the treatment certificate goes into the document set for that shipment.
ONE RECORD
The treatment record travels with the packing record
Treatment is booked with a licensed provider against the loading date, so the certificate and the packing list describe the same goods on the same day.
The phytosanitary certificate is issued per shipment by the Indonesian quarantine authority against that treatment record.
STAMPED PACKING TIMBER

MARKED PACKING
ISPM-15
All solid-wood packing material is ISPM-15 treated and stamped. Pallets, corner board and bracing are covered, not only the crates.
WHERE IT GOES WRONG
The bracing is what gets a container held
Quarantine holds are almost never about the furniture. They are about an unstamped batten used to brace a load at the last minute. Packing timber arrives already treated and stamped by a licensed provider, so there is nothing untreated in the packing bay to reach for.
Where a destination requires plywood or engineered packing instead, we substitute it and note the change on the packing list rather than leaving your broker to discover it.
